THE PINES - TRAIL INFORMATION

Post @ July 26 - MEB
The " Green Trail"  is ready !!

This update has been a while coming!! The new Green trail has been established. This is a more family friendly loop that offers all of the of the twisty section fun, a few moderate climbs and none of the bone jarring, lung busting riding of the course.

We encourage beginner riders and some of the more experienced to get out and put some miles on the new loop to break it in even better.!!

To all of the less experienced riders.. Please come out and try the Green Trail. Let us know what you think..

354 - Extension
Thanks to a few dedicated individuals the new and Gnarly 354 trail addition has taken shape. Climb the initial Black section hill to reap the rewards of this fast, twisty section. Some natural berms give the turns that extra peppering of excitment.

2 NEW LOOPS DONE!
The new entrance to the trails and, parking area are now located approx. 1.3 km to the east of the old entrance, at the second yellow gate on the left. If the gate is closed it is not locked. There is a W.C.C. "The Pines" sign on a telephone pole at the entrance. The parking lot/trail head is up the driveway.

There is a red arrow loop and, a black arrow loop with the black trail (aprrox13km long) being longer and more technical. Both trails are very well marked and easy to follow.

The thinning of the Pines in the fall of 2005 has caused a lot of old trails to be closed. Some of the old trails have been reopened but most of the black and, red loops are completely NEW with a few having a mixture of some old and new looped into each other.

Also NEW for this year is the addition to our website (it's all about bragging rights) "Timing Your Own Laps" section. What is this you ask? It is a form you can fill out on line and the we post all the lap times people are doing for either course, there is also a comment section with the same page. Get out there and race yourself against the clock!

The U.T.R.C.A. is still suggesting the Pines become a W.C.C. members-only riding area. (somewhere an insurance person is smiling) What this basically means is:
  1. If you're a member of an O.C.A. affiliated club (carry your card with you when riding) and ride the Pines a couple of times a year you're OK.
  2. If the same as above but ride the Pines more frequently you need to join the W.C.C. and get the trail sticker for your bike/helmet (you will not pay for insurance portion twice).
  3. All other riders are taking their chances as the U.T.R.C.A. will be doing random checks at the parking area and throughout the trails just as they do at Fanshawe Lake in London. Riders found in the Pines without proper membership card or W.C.C. stickermay be subject of a fine of 65$ under the "trespass to property act".
Please note, HELMETS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AT THE PINES. THIS IS MANDATORY, FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL INVOLVED

The coin box does not give permission to ride there, it is a trail maintenance donation box only!

Membership is available by clicking here or Pedal Power. Trail stickers can be picked up at Pedal Power. Thanks!
